The Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field in Everett, WA was bursting at the seams; too many vintage airplanes and not enough hangar space. They needed a cost effective structure that would house additional planes, but creating a space that enabled a continuous flow for visitors was key. Although we could never match the style and character of the existing 1950’ hangar, our premanufactured metal building was cost effective, and by incorporating materials and colors from the original hangar as well as a modern canopy and entry structures, we were able to soften the impact of our new building. The new facility now houses an addition gift shop, a theater, and exhibition space for much of the collection of airplanes, tanks and artillery. Certified LEED Silver, this project incorporates many sustainable features.
